Haute Couture collections are without a doubt, my favorite collections. They are the collections where designers can in short, do whatever they want! Creativity and the imagination rule these unrestricted collections. The icing on the cake is the anticipation of which lovely ensembles will be seen on style icons such as Daphne Guinness and Lady Gaga.

So fashion lovelys, without further ado, Let the Couture Commence!
I must, must, MUST begin with Uncle Karl. This collection was absolutely LOVELY. Tweed, Patterns, Power suits, and Victorian inspired boots OH MY! As we all know, Chanel delivers a specific design aesthetic season after season: i.e. Tweed, The Chanel suit, and a classic color palette. However, this collection was a bit different, in the best of ways. The bold colors, the trimmings, the patterns, the array of fabrics and the twists on the classic tweed trench were a pleasant surprise. It spoke of an innovative, powerful and ever-changing Chanel. I ADORED THOSE BOOTS! Completely amazing. They took me all the way back to Queen Victoria’s reign during the mid 1800’s but with a modernized twist. This collection to me was AMAZING!
Now, for my favorite collection GIVENCHY! Riccardo Tisci was no other than, THE BONE COLLECTOR this season. He turned the human skeletal structure into couture with grace. The color palette is composed of nudes, whites, cremes, golds and it takes an exquisite turn with a deep chocolate, feather and leather ensemble. The fabric used to execute such a mind boggling collection were lace resembling leather, sheer, fur and feathers. I was completely in awe of the entire collection.
Alexis Mabille is a designer I have just recently began to explore. This couture collection was interesting to me, because he simply played mix and match with many of his pieces. It was somewhat like creating 9 pieces (2 tops, 2 bottoms, 2 jackets, 2 shoes and a gown) and seeing how many different outfits you can create. I loved the collection, however, it was so lovely that it somewhat left me wanting more. Well, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what else Mabille will give to us in the future.
Oh my sweet Elie Saab, if I were to ever become famous, and had to attend a red carpet event, I would be faithful to you and only you!
Without a doubt, Lebanese designer Elie Saab creates some of the most amazing, luxurious, mind shattering gowns I have ever seen in my life. The drapery, the color palette, the soft hand, the intricate construction, all pull together to create BEAUTIFUL garments. Upon reviewing his couture collection, I was in a mouth watering daze. Each garment in the ENTIRE collection was equally as wonderful as the last. I Heart Elie!
So i’m convinced that John Galliano took a trip to wonderland and laughed and talked for hours with the flowers for his Christian Dior Couture collection. Stephen Jones must have joined in on the fun because his head pieces were a dream.
This collection was completely earth shattereing. It was a 3D movie filled with illusions yet there no glasses needed. It was as if you were watching models bloom into tulips and daisy’s and an assortment of other flowers.
The garment construction was amazing and effortlessly executed Galliano’s vision. The colors were beautiful, from neon yellow, to lavender, to an array of tye-died creations, I loved it all. I also ADORED the fact that this collection was completely FROU FROU!

Mother Monster May I? Wear 9 inch heels and chaps with a train?

NO YOU MAY NOT!

Pop singer, style icon and my IDOL Lady Gaga fell today FOR THE FIRST TIME at Heathrow airport.
It seems that her heel got caught in the train connected to her chaps and caused her to have a “in natural gaga fashion” not so graceful fall.
WHO CARES?! We little monsters still ADORE your every move.
So from now on, if I ever fall in a pair of heels, i’ll get up, dust myself off and yell “Who the fk cares?! EVEN LADY GAGA FALLS!
I must say, i do SINCERELY enjoy this leather and sheer ensemble I love the play on the hard vs. soft aesthetic.

Rolling Stone Gives the Goods on GAGA

Lady Gaga bares her heart — and much more — on the cover of Rolling Stone‘s new issue, on sale at newsstands Wednesday, June 23rd. In the most extensive interview the pop star has ever given about the breakup that inspired her transformation from Germanotta to Gaga, her complex relationship with her beloved father and the music on her next album, Lady Gaga tells contributing editor Neil Strauss art is life and not being fierce isn’t an option: “When I wake up in the morning, I feel just like any other insecure 24-year-old girl,” she says. “Then I say, ‘Bitch, you’re Lady Gaga, you get up and walk the walk today.’ “

In a backstage interview before and after one of her mammoth Monster Ball shows in England, Gaga admits she wouldn’t have been as successful if she hadn’t had her heart broken by her East Village boyfriend five years ago, and that “sex is certainly not, like, a priority at the moment.” Her priority is, and has been, the relationship she’s built with her fans. “If I were to ever, God forbid, get hurt onstage and my fans were screaming outside of the hospital, waiting for me to come out, I’d come out as Gaga,” she says, adding that she models her celebrity on Michael Jackson. “Michael got burned, and he lifted that glittered glove so damn high so his fans could see him, because he was in the art of show business. That’s what we do. I don’t even drink water onstage in front of anybody, because I want them to focus on the fantasy of the music.”

Gaga also reveals some deeply personal details for the first time, including her recurring nightmare involving a phantom and a blond girl who’s tied up with ropes. “She’s got my shoes on from the Grammys,” Gaga says. “Go figure — psycho.” When presented with the idea that her behavior indicates she’s a survivor of a traumatic experience, Gaga says there are limits to what she’ll discuss in public. “You have to be careful about how much you reveal to people that look up to you so much.”

Despite a health scare (she currently doesn’t have Lupus, but the disease runs in her family) and nonstop touring, Gaga hasn’t lost her creative inspiration — she’s currently finishing up her new record and designing the stage production for her next tour. Gaga plans to announce the title of her new album — due out early next year — at midnight on New Year’s Eve. “I think I’m gonna get the album title tattooed on me and put out the photo,” she says. “I’ve been working on it for months now, and I feel very strongly that it’s finished right now. It came so quickly. Some artists take years; I don’t. I write music every day.” As for the subject matter of the music, Gaga says she’s moved on with writing songs about her quest for fame to crafting tunes with an angry, perhaps political bent. “Why are we still talking about ‘Don’t ask, don’t tell’?” she says. “It’s like, what fucking year is it? It makes me crazy! And I have been for three years baking cakes — and now I’m going to bake a cake that has a bitter jelly. The message of the new music is now more bitter than it was before. Because the sweeter the cake, the more bitter the jelly can be.”
