On to the fashion show! Below are photos taken from various designers at the event. These were my favorite looks:

BRING ON THE MEN!

Short lived, but totally worth it, back to the ladies!

My ABSOLUTELY FAVORITE DRESS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally, we had a special musical performance by Septimius-The-Great who, for any fashion obsessed individual, did a great song that left many of us humming the tune all the way home.

That’s all for now fashion lovely’s, my last post should be up within the next few days, and will be a LOT shorter. I hope you all enjoyed my shared experience as much as I enjoyed sharing it. Tootles until next time…

Fashion’s Night Out (FNO) Post 1: The Look

Fashion’s Night Out in Baltimore was a really great time. Although it didn’t have the glitz, glam, celebs, and posh storefronts associated with New York, it was still an amazing experience.

I did A LOT of networking, found out about some great local stores and got to experience the core of what fashion and art have to offer in Baltimore.

The event was so JAM-PACKED that this will have to be a three-part post. The first, is going to be about my outfit, the second is going to showcase the venders and the fashion show, and the third is simply about all of the amazing people I met.

Special thanks to Baltimore Fashion Alliance for hosting an amazing event and I can’t wait to see what else they have in store for the coming months.

Soooooo, on to my ensemble!!!!!!

The look I was going for, aesthetically, was a  modern 70’s vibe. I was inspired by the skirt that I wore. It was a maxi that I found at a Salvation Army last year that I never got a chance to wear. When I put it on, it made me feel fun, vibrant and carefree. I took that and ran with it. I decided to modernize it a bit by pulling up the right side and giving it a flowing drape effect. For the rest of my outfit, I decided to take a ‘Thrifted Thursday” approach. My friend Beatrice of HeavenlyGlow.net has a recurring post she calls “Thrifted Thursday”, so I let that inspire me as well.

First we have my skirt:

I paired it with my vintage Iceburg blazer; check out the pocket detail:

For Shoes, I chose my “Daisy” platforms courtesy of Wild Pair from Bakers:

And I put my Arm Party away for the night, so I settled for Arm Candy. This consisted of two chained bracelets that I made myself; one with black ribbon threaded through it. A burberry Nova Check watch and a vintage Jade ring courtesy of Grandma.

For my necklace, I chose a beaded Aztec style piece that I bought last year from an H&M in NY while I was attending Teen Vogue Fashion University: TVFU (I re-applied this year, hopefully I get in).

My favorite piece was definitely my Vintage belt; borrowed from a wonderful friend of mine.

That’s all for now lovies! Hope you enjoyed my look as much as I did. My next two posts will be up in the next few days, so stay on the lookout.

Tootles until next time…..

Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall

FINALLY, the season that I have been waiting for is just around the corner, and along with it, comes an entirely new fall wardrobe. So, what do I have my eye on? Black, Leather and Everything spiked, of course.

Before I begin showing you all exactly what I have my eye on, I should remind you all that my style consists of neutral tones, spikes, funky patterns, a red lip and an overall tailored look with a splash of grit and grunge.

TopShop is one of my all time favorite stores, but then again, I love almost anything derived from London. Right now, they are running this amazing Grunge campaign, prepping for fall. A few of the items I have my eye on are:

Animal Midi Bodycon Dress $64.00

Folded Lapel Jacket $110.00

Petite Gold Jacquard Trousers $90.00
Moto Striped Leigh Jeans $80.00
Lips in All About Me $15.00
I’m a sucker for a Rouge lip.
Studded PU Cuff Bracelet $25.00

Supreme Extreme Platform Shoes $176.00
Normally, I wouldn’t pay so much for a simple platform pump, but this
shoe screams: AFFORDABLE VERSION OF CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN’s DAFFODIL!

Now we’re off to Pixie Market. They specialize in a kind of MOD (Model off duty) look. They often feature really relaxed looks.
Pixie Market is for the Alexander Wang obsessed woman
on a pretty lenient budget.

Two items that I have my eye on from here are:

Noir Midi Dress $52.00
Gold Scarf Print Top $42.00 (Moschino inspiration, anyone?)

Ok, so for those of you who don’t know; Lane Bryant is re-vamping their entire brand aesthetic. They are planning to offer trendier items for plus sized women. Considering that I am right at the tip between regular and plus size, I am afforded the opportunity to shop at both. So, I was in Lane Bryant the other day, and I stumbled upon a poster of an outfit from thier new campaign. Needless to say, I WANT THE ENTIRE THING!

Not Yet Released. (The houndstooth cape, leather inset skirt and striped
long sleeve tee, are all MUST HAVES for me. I will stalk the site faithfully
until the release.

I saved the best for last, my absolute favorite UK based store…..

River Island Peplum Pencil Dress $68.12

Asos Skinny Crop Pant $37.47
ASOS Button Front Sculpted Coat $144.76
ASOS Body-Concious Dress in Monochrome Aztec Print $37.47

Reverse High Neck Foil Print Dress $76.64 (I would never wear this, but I love it!)
Lipsy Bandeau Peplum Dress $93.67 (Worth the Splurge)
ASOS Cyclone Biker Boots $76.64
ASOS Abandon Platform Leather $144.76

That’s about all for now. I’ll be sure to post photos as I begin to compile my fall Wardrobe. Until next time…..

VINTAGE FEVER: I heart Blazers!

So lovelys!

Today I would like to discuss with you all the absolute BEST METHOD OF SHOPPING EVER:………….THRIFTING!!!!!!!
Ok, so for starters, many of you may be thinking, “YUCK! Who wants to wear other people’s things?” Well, my answer to that dearies is, if someone gives up a $3200 vintage Chanel bag to charity and someone finds it in a thrift store; The answer is ME! and most likely, all of you too!
As you all will come to know, I am a blazer whore. Not fanatic, not obsessor, not collector, a BLAZER WHORE! I eat sleep and BREATHE blazers! They are the absolute PERFECT element to any ensemble! I wear them with maxis, shorts, pants, cocktail dresses, rompers, EVERYTHING! I HEART BLAZERS!!!
Now, for a really nice, trendy blazer, you would assume that you would have to visit the closest H&M, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, etc.
Well, my sweet little lovelys, you are WRONG! I have accumulated quite the little collection, and ALL of them have come from either family members or thrift stores! The most I have EVER spent on a blazer is $20 AND it is a vintage Givenchy piece AND it came with a SKIRT!!
So, I encourage all of you to head out to your nearest thrift store, salvation army, goodwill, ANY store that sells second-hand goods and go INSANE! It is definitely worth it.
Also, please be mindful that Fashion is a giant ever-turning cycle and that EVRY style is repeated. So you are almost ALWAYS guaranteed to find something worth your while. Also, try to wash/ dry clean your items BEFORE you wear them. Especially shirts and bottoms. You don’t want to ASSUME that they were done so by previous owners. Well sweeties, thats all for now! Tootles until next time………….
Oh! And below are three of my most recent purchases; enjoy!
